Standing Firm For Christ

And I said unto him:
Deniest thou the Christ who shall come?

And he said: If there should be a Christ,
I would not deny him; but I know
that there is no Christ,
neither has been, nor ever will be.

And I said unto him:
Believest thou the scriptures?

And he said, Yea.

And I said unto him:
Then ye do not understand them;
for they truly testify of Christ.

Behold, I say unto you that
none of the prophets have written,
nor prophesied, save they have
spoken concerning this Christ.

And this is not all—
it has been made manifest unto me,
for I have heard and seen;
and it also has been made manifest
unto me by the power of the Holy Ghost;
wherefore, I know
if there should be no atonement made
all mankind must be lost.

Faith In Our Savior

I, Jacob, had faith in
Christ who should come.
(Jacob 7:3)

Do Not Reject Jesus

Behold, will ye reject these words?

Will ye reject the words of the prophets;
and will ye reject all the words which have
been spoken concerning Christ,
after so many have spoken concerning him;
and deny the good word of Christ,
and the power of God,
and the gift of the Holy Ghost,
and quench the Holy Spirit,
and make a mock of the great plan of
redemption, which hath been laid for you?

Know ye not that if ye will do these things,
that the power of the redemption
and the resurrection, which is in Christ,
will bring you to stand with shame
and awful guilt before the bar of God?

Come To Know Jesus Christ

And now, beloved, marvel not that I tell you these things;
for why not speak of the atonement of Christ,
and attain to a perfect knowledge of him,
as to attain to the knowledge of
a resurrection and the world to come?
(Jacob 4:12)

The First-Fruits Of Christ

Wherefore, be reconciled unto
him through the atonement of Christ,
his Only Begotten Son,
and ye may obtain a resurrection,
according to the power of
the resurrection which is in Christ,
and be presented as the first-fruits
of Christ unto God, having faith,
and obtained a good hope of glory in him
before he manifesteth himself in the flesh.
(Jacob 4:11)

All The Prophets Testify Of Christ

For this intent have we written these things,
that they may know that we knew of Christ,
and we had a hope of his glory
many hundred years before his coming;
and not only we ourselves had a hope of his glory,
but also all the holy prophets which were before us.

Behold, they believed in Christ
and worshiped the Father in his name,
and also we worship the Father in his name.

And for this intent we keep the law of Moses,
it pointing our souls to him; and for this cause
it is sanctified unto us for righteousness,
even as it was accounted unto Abraham
in the wilderness to be obedient
unto the commands of God
in offering up his son Isaac, which is
a similitude of God and his Only Begotten Son.

A Christ-Centered Life

And after ye have obtained a hope in Christ
ye shall obtain riches, if ye seek them;
and ye will seek them for the intent to do good—
to clothe the naked, and to feed the hungry,
and to liberate the captive, and administer
relief to the sick and the afflicted.
(Jacob 2:19)

Becoming A Disciple Of Christ

We would to God that we could
persuade all men not to rebel against God,
to provoke him to anger,
but that all men would believe in Christ,
and view his death, and suffer his cross
and bear the shame of the world.
(Jacob 1:8)

Call Them Unto Christ

We labored diligently among our people,
that we might persuade them to come unto Christ,
and partake of the goodness of God,
that they might enter into his rest.
(Jacob 1:7)

They Knew Our Savior

And we also had many revelations,
and the spirit of much prophecy;
wherefore, we knew of Christ
and his kingdom, which should come.
(Jacob 1:6)

These Things Testify Of Christ

If there were preaching which was sacred,
or revelation which was great, or prophesying,
I should engraven the heads of them upon these plates,
and touch upon them as much as it were possible,
for Christ’s sake, and for the sake of our people.
(Jacob 1:4)

Hearken To The Words Of Christ

And you that will not partake of the goodness of God,
and respect the words of the Jews,
and also my words, and the words
which shall proceed forth out of
the mouth of the Lamb of God,
behold, I bid you an everlasting farewell,
for these words shall condemn you at the last day.
(2 Nephi 33:14)

To The Kingdom Of God & Christ

I pray the Father in the name of Christ
that many of us, if not all,
may be saved in his kingdom
at that great and last day.
(2 Nephi 33:12)

This Is Christ's Word

And now, my beloved brethren,
and also Jew, and all ye ends of the earth,
hearken unto these words and believe in Christ;
and if ye believe not in these words believe in Christ.

And if ye shall believe in Christ
ye will believe in these words,
for they are the words of Christ,
and he hath given them unto me;
and they teach all men that they should do good.

And if they are not the words of Christ, judge ye—
for Christ will show unto you,
with power and great glory, that they are his words,
at the last day; and you and I shall
stand face to face before his bar;
and ye shall know that I have been
commanded of him to write these things,
notwithstanding my weakness.

Our Hope Is In Christ Alone

I have charity for the Jew.

I also have charity for the Gentiles.

But behold, for none of these can I hope
except they shall be reconciled unto Christ.

Together In Christ

I have charity for my people,
and great faith in Christ that
I shall meet many souls
spotless at his judgment-seat.
(2 Nephi 33:7)

Glory In Christ

I glory in plainness;
I glory in truth;
I glory in my Jesus,
for he hath redeemed
my soul from hell.
(2 Nephi 33:6)

Praying In Christ's Name

Behold, I say unto you that
ye must pray always, and not faint;
that ye must not perform any thing unto the Lord
save in the first place ye shall pray
unto the Father in the name of Christ,
that he will consecrate thy performance unto thee,
that thy performance may be for the welfare of thy soul.
(2 Nephi 32:9)

Live The Gospel Of Christ

Behold, this is the doctrine of Christ,
and there will be no more doctrine given
until after he shall manifest
himself unto you in the flesh.

And when he shall manifest
himself unto you in the flesh,
the things which he shall say unto you
shall ye observe to do.
(2 Nephi 32:6)
